• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Hi
I am currently using Plesk installed on AlmaLinux 8.
I recently learned that while AlmaLinux comes bundled with PHP version 7.2, OS backport support is available for version 7.4.
Additionally, according to information from my server management provider, Plesk provides PHP 7.4 on Plesk with OS backport support patches incorporated, so I understand that updates are expected to be similar to those for the OS-bundled version.
Is this information correct?
I understand that backport support for PHP on AlmaLinux is scheduled to continue until May 2029, so please let me know if I am correct in assuming that updates will be provided until then.

Best Regards,

In theory, if PHP 7.4 is installed by the OS vendor, Plesk shouldn't inter with the security update pushed by AlmaLinux.

Additionally, according to information from my server management provider, Plesk provides PHP 7.4 on Plesk with OS backport support patches incorporated, so I understand that updates are expected to be similar to those for the OS-bundled version.
Is this information correct?

Could you please share the full source material for this statement? Thanks in advance.
