  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

please speed up backup and restore system

Hi there,

in Plesk 12.0.18, you can only backup everything below a subscription. For very many files the process takes more than 1 hour:

/var/www/vhosts/
folder1: 114034
folder2: 123030
folder3: 206226

Unfortunately you can only restore everything. The restoration lasted 3 hours! In Confixx it takes only 30 minutes. The process in Confixx was different. All was packed in zip and moved to /backup. This method feels up to 10000% faster.

Here a workaround: copying the necessary folders manually in Plesk -> Files -> Copy.

This procedure is with many files 10000% faster.

Odin-Support:

1) please speed up the backup and restore system
2) please add: backup individual files
3) Possibly better method as in Confixx: zipping and move ?

Have you read about backup/restore system improvements in upcoming Plesk 12.5?

Hi Igor,

unfortunately not help informations under: http://download1.parallels.com/Ples...inistrator-guide/index.htm?fileName=59263.htm

An incremental Backups is faster, but the main problem remains. Has a folder a lot of files, takes the recovery very long. A shop software is usually (including pictures) of about 50,000 files, with cache roundabout 70,000 to 100,000 files. A recovery takes then about 2-3 hours.

If the process is changed in Plesk 12.5? If it speeds up?
