Resolved Plesk 18.0.65 Update -> Error 504

Plesk Obsidian Version 18.0.64 Update 1
Hello Pleskians!

I've tried to update a existing Plesk 18.0.64 Update 1 Web Admin Edition to Plesk 18.0.65 relaesd today.
After downloading the new installer via update the installer itself (https://domain.tld:8443/installer/?secret=mySiteSecret&locale=de-DE) runs in a "

504 Gateway Time-out

nginx
" error.

Any thoughts or locations/logfiles i may inspect to find the root cause?
The existing Plesk 18.064 U1 install seems to be kept active at moment.

I don't expect performance issues on the server RAM/CPU/disk space usage is is max 40%.

I am sorry to hear about the issue you experienced during the update. Could you please check /var/log/plesk/install/autoinstaller3.log and provide the latest entries? It stores logs of Plesk updates.

Hello @Sebahat.hadzhi
thanks for your help.
Attached to my post you'll find the log entries (zipped) of todays automatic/regular update (that succeed) and my manual update approach (to force the update to 18.0.65).
I've removed older entries to ease up readability of the log.
Could not paste the log here, bechause it exeeds the size limit set for sorum posts.

Thank you. Upon reviewing the autoinstaller log I can see the following error logged:

[2024-10-29 12:31:32.299097] Warning: Failed to detach from parents cgroup, installer might be unexpectedly killed later by the system
[2024-10-29 12:31:32.299522] DEBUG: web server PID: 2309479
[2024-10-29 12:31:34.300116] Error: Can't start build-in web-server
Not all packages were installed.
Please try to install packages again later.
Please resolve this issue and try to install the packages again.

That might be caused by a stuck install process. Please check if there is such:

ps aux | grep installer

If there's a stuck process, please try killing it:

kill -9 PID

If there are no stuck install processes, the issue might be related to incorrectly configured packages, which will be fairly more complicated. You can run an audit to confirm that:

dpkg --audit

Thanks for your help @Sebahat.hadzhi !
Indeed there was a running installer. Killing this process and updating again resulted in an error free update to 18.0.65
