Since the 8.1.1 upgrade I find my backups fail with code error 2 (although this maybe coincidental).

Interesting to note is the actual file is successfully uploaded and saved to the server and FTPserver log file show Plesk has successfully close the connection. I could of course simply ignor it but that doesn't seem right somehow.

The error message reported by Plesk email is:

Backup error. Can not upload backup file ftp://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx/daily/psa-8.1-myserver[2].psa to FTP server.
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

And by attempting a manual FTP session:

Can not upload backup file ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/daily/psa-8.1-myserver-2007.04.01.psa to FTP server.
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

Can not upload backup file ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/daily/psa-8.1-myserver-2007.04.01.psa to FTP server.
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

Any thoughts?

Uhm, I@ve changed nothing and the backup schedular now reports no problems and successfull!

Strange.

Nice to see Plesk managed the file name auto-increment fix now in 8.1.1 :)

i have the same problems with Plesk 7.6.1, i´m thinking to upgrade to 8.1.1 but i´m afraid to get another problems =\

Uhm

Code 2 again last night, no changes have been made to either the Plesk backup configuration of the client FTP!

My conclusion is to not use the Plesk Backup FTP and just use Plesk to backup to local drive first then set a FTP scheduled service to run from an offsite client to retrieve the file via FTP thus eliminating the troublesome Plesk FTP service!
