Plesk 8.1 auto configuration script fails

Hi there,

I've recently bought a Plesk-powered VPS, which was running SuSE until I decided to change to Debian because various software wouldn't compile on it.

Anyway, I've got a brand new and untouched server with Debian 3.1 running, but some problems occur every time I try to run the script. I've also tried to upgrade my system before doing so, but it didn't have any results.

At the point the script tries to install the Sitebuilder which comes with the Plesk package the following error comes up;
Code:
Err [url]http://autoinstall.plesk.com[/url] sarge/all Packages
  403 Forbidden
Ign [url]http://autoinstall.plesk.com[/url] sarge/all Release
Failed to fetch [url]http://autoinstall.plesk.com/debian/SiteBuilder_3.0.1/dists/sarge/all/binary-i386/Packages.gz[/url] 403 Forbidden
Reading Package Lists...
W: Couldn't stat source package list [url]http://autoinstall.plesk.com[/url] sarge/all Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/autoinstall.plesk.com_debian_SiteBuilder%5f3.0.1_dists_sarge_all_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Warning: there is errors in 'apt-get update'

After this the script goes on and asks me what to install, the sitebuilder or/and modules, but somehow the errors stay in place and the whole script fails.
Hopefully anyone here could tell me what the problem is :confused:

I think plesk is working on support for debian 4.0 aka etch, coz they disabled upgrades for debian 3.1 on their autoupdate server. If u take a look into http://autoinstall.plesk.com/plesk.inf3 (a raw xml file) then u will see that they commented out the lines for debian 3.1. e.g.

!<-- <build os_name="Linux" os_vendor="Debian" os_version="3.1" os_arch="i386" config="PSA_8.1.1/plesk-8.1.1-deb3.1-i386.inf3"/> -->

So plz be patient and try out in a few days. I figured that out while trying to check for updates on my debian 3.1/plesk8.1.1.

Bye for now

JK

Alright thanks, is there any way to install Plesk 8.1 manually, without facing these problems as well?
