• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Plesk 8.1 SMTP Error

Hello,

We're having a bit of an email problem since the upgrade from 8.0.1 to 8.1. Our email relaying is set to use SMTP authentication, although the SMTP server rejects passwords in Plain Text but works when using CRAM-MD5 password encryption.

Any ideas to temporarily fix this, as well as [hopefully] information from SWSoft on whether this will be fixed or not.

Regards,
Steve

what distro are you running plesk on?
anyone else is having this issue?
that is surelly a no-go for me, i guess most of my users are using plain auth... if that stops working my helpdesk will become a mess!

Running CentOS4.2. We, along with our datacenter, looked at it for hours and the only fix we could find for it was CRAM-MD5.

Sure, but where is that option in Plesk?

Encrypted password can be created using creation utilities only. Refer to /usr/local/psa/bin directory.
