8.3 release is expected in December, 2007

I was trying to protect the entire /httpdocs directory there are no errors when clicking on the done button but when you now try to access the "protected" directory then getting SERVICE UNAVAILABLE page or blank page. It does not ask you for the user name and pass.

Thank you

We've done the following:
---------------

1. create web directory with phys directory, set 'Directory browsing' permission and switch on protection on the directory - after that when we tried to view this dir, browser asks for login/pass and shows dir content if it's correct

Everything is working

2. create phys dir in /httpdocs and switch on protection for it - when we tried to view this dir browser asks for login/pass

Everything is working

It was checked on
---------------
Plesk 8.3 beta 2 for Windows
Windows 2008 x86 Ent De RC0

Has somebody have the same issue?

ok Sergius, it works the way you did it, but if I try to just protect the httpdocs directory without creating a virtual directory or any other it will not work, at least it does not work for me. Just try this please: create a new domain, go to protect a directory and try to add a password protection to the /httpdocs folder and pls let me know if everything works, cause if yes so it means it is my servers issue.

It works for me.
Also I've done it through "Protected URLs" and it works properly.
Please check existence of ISAPI filter urlprotect on the site in IIS.

New version?

Hello Sergius,

do you have a date for the release of version 8.3 this month? I am getting a new server so I need to know if I should wait till you release the new version or go ahead and install the 8.2 version. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Henryk

We're in the same position. I guess if we purchase 8.2 it will mean we get a free upgrade to 8.3 will it not?

I think the upgrade is free anyway, hope Sergius will respond soon.

Sergius. Will upgrading from 8.2 to 8.3 be a straight forward process? Also. if we purchase an 8.2 license in the next few days will this entitle us to a free upgrade to 8.3?

smurf, my suggestion, wait till the version 8.3 is released, this will be the safest way to have everything working fine.

lates version of plesk 8.3?

Hello Serius,

can you publish the latest download of Plesk, 8.3 for Windows? It should be ready by now I think,

Thank you,
henryk

By the way Sergius, the new forum format is a very bad idea. The full screen version was much, much better, also the private messages can't be read. The half of all my pm's are not redable cause they are cut off:( can you please reverse the format and have the old forums back online? I bet I am not the only one here that hates this forums format.

Thanks
