• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Plesk backup compatibility across hosting providers

Mark McGinty

New Pleskian
What are the chances a Plesk backup (of multiple sites and databases) created on one hosting provider (A2 for example) could be restored on a different hosting provider (like GoDaddy?)

(You may have heard about the unfortunate catastrophe at A2? This would be fallout from that.)

My educated guess would be no... I have separate backups of my WordPress sites, created by a plugin, that I know will work, and I can easily republish the code for my .Net sites... my only remaining classic ASP site might take a bit of fiddling... or maybe I will retire it. Then I'll have to restore the SQL backups and dump them to script or something...

So not a catastrophe if it won't, just another very long night. :)

TIA
