• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Plesk backups default settings?

Regular Pleskian
Greets!
Just spotted on some of our newer plesk servers (that were using alot of disk space) that plesk server-wide backups seems to be running by default. These are the backups configured from Toos&Settings >> Backup Manager. Is this normal behavior?

I think I remember that on my last new Obsidian installation the backup plan was not only configured and activate, but a backup was actually created right away, too. So probably, yes, that seems to be the default behavior.

Hey Peter,
Thanks for confirming. This caused an issue on one of our servers. Plesk could not update due to lack of disk space. I don't think having this enabled by default is a good idea. Backups should be config'd by the admin. No doubt we'll have to vote on it...........
