Plesk Creation Tools ONLY Install...

Just curious if it is possible to install the core features of the Plesk system without installing the "frontend" control panel.

My idea was to create my own little control panel which utilizes the Plesk creation tools to manage the server while allowing me to completely create my own frontend app.

Please let me know weather this is possible, and any ideas or suggestions you may have.

you'd have to check their license first, but I'm guessing you could do it.

your options as I see them:

1.) dont tell clients about domain.com:8443
2.) block access to port 8443
3.) kill the plesk server

if you build on plesk technology, im guessing you'll be able to use all shell tools, but you'll also have to acknowledge their support somewhere :)

on the other hand, did you consider creating a skin for your customers and creating a customization package, so that they only see what you want them to see?

Thanks for the info.

Creating a customized skin wouldn't be sufficient because i'm thinking of completely developing my own control panel with my own features such as: support, billing, etc. but instead of reinventing the wheel, I think using the creation tools to handle things like domain, email, database creation would be useful. Hence the reason for this post.

You could still use Plesk for the control panel, but integrate billing/support with it too. It's what is done with HSPcomplete, another SWsoft product, but it shows that it's possible to integrate with Plesk completely.
