• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

New Pleskian
When I am creating backups for plesk (plesk 11.x) in plesk back up manager it is created in xml format. Is their anyway that the plesk backups can be created in tar.gz format? Please advice a resolution for this issue.

Thanks in advance

In short, NO. At least not for now.

You can use my script to create tar.gz fullbackup from Plesk xml file:
http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=263772 (post #6)

Please note: if you don't need need to put this archive somewhere, e.g. on personal repo like i wrote there, you can just delete this part:
# This is the FTP servers host or IP address.
HOST=<ftp_server_hostname>
.
.
.
.
send fullbackup-$dateBackup.tar.gz fullbackup-$dateBackup.tar.gz

Note: don't touch last two lines
bye
