  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Thanks for reading.

The auto updates have been failing with the following message.

ERROR: Components and product validation detected at least one important issue:

Plesk installation requires 'Ubuntu/focal/main' OS repository to be enabled.
Make sure it is available and enabled, then try again.

Appreciate any advice.

This typically indicates that you have some non-standard repositories and Plesk cannot properly resolve the dependencies. Please follow the details for Ubuntu 20.04 in this article. In case, you are intentionally using custom repositories, you can skip the repository check during Plesk installation with:

touch /tmp/plesk-installer-skip-repository-check.flag

Thank you for the feedback.

As I am a Windows guy, do I just run that command once to set a flag permanently, folloiwng which I then run the Update again ?

I actually have no idea whether there are non-standard repositories, it is one of our VPS systems with fairly minimal apps.

Cheers

You need to SSH to the server and review what repos you have on the VPS. A lot of cloud providers usually have their own repos added and you would need to turn it off. Just refer to the article to show which repos are the defaults or google your cloud provider and custom repos to find out the name to disable it.

Thanks for feedback. Will give that a go.
