Issue Plesk installer error when going into updates page

dgarcia90

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.52
Hello everyone,

a few minutes ago my server got system update issues. Looks like checking updates manually fixed the issue. However when I go to plesk update I see the following error:

I've been searching how to fix this issue and I found a plesk page wich says this happens because the psa-installer file is corrupted and needs to be downloaded agian however it does not explain exaclty how to download it again.

Has anyone fixed this issue before?

Thanks a lot for your help! : )

Kind regards,
Daniel Garcia

I was able to update the plesk version but after that Im still having this issue and also having issues when checking system package updates.

This is what I saw in the logs when I go to system updates:

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot for your help! : )

OK looks like the issue of the System updates was related to a key that was not added to the server (don't know how that happen). However I'm still having the issue when going to plesk updates "Can't connect to backend: No such file or directory"

Thanks for your reply. I already tried that. The issue it's kinda weird. When I go to plesk updates I cannot check system updates as it says: "The System Updates tool is already installing updates in automatic mode. Please try later." Then I delete the psa-installer.lock file and I can check system updates but when I do that when I go to plesk update I see the other error: "Can't connect to backend: No such file or directory" and then I have to kill the autoinstaller processes like they explained in the article you sent me

Looks like I just had to wait. The autoinstaller processes took really long time to finish but after that I was able to check system updates without any error.

I'd like to discuss something else becuase I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

When check updates from plesk it does not find any update available, but when running "apt update" (not apt-get) it finds 8 available packages. I also run "apt list --upgradable" and it showed the 8 packages. Then I do "apt-get upgrade" but nothing is updated / upgraded.

Is that normal?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

Yes it is normal, Plesk does not manage certain system updates as they can have risks, like Kernel, etc.
