plesk login trouble (load balanced adsl connection)

hi,

in our office we have two adsl connections running through a netgear fvx538 load balancing router.

the problem i have is that i cannot login to plesk (it just throws me back to the login page immediately with no error message).

i have configured the fvx538 so all https traffic runs on a specific connection, this works fine for connecting to my bank (lloydstsb.com), ebay etc, however it still throws me out of plesk immediately.

is there another protocol plesk uses to determine it's session in addition to https? maybe ping or something?? if there is i can also set this protocol to run on a specific line.

or alternatively can plesk be setup to use ip authentication instead ? we have two fixed ips.

cheers,

ben

router might might be using the port to determine https traffic, 443 is the standard https port but Plesk uses 8443 so you may have to add that too.

yes, i think you're right, unfortunately i can't see any option in the router control panel to configure 8443. i'll have to contact netgear.

thanks for your help.

ben
