I have one client who is having problems sending email, but not receiving. All of my other clients, including myself, are not having any problems with our domains on the mail server at all. This client has about 20 emails on his account and the users of each of those email addresses are having the same problem. I made an email account on his domain, set it up in outlook, and it does the strangest thing...
In the outlook settings I selected that the outgoing server requires authentication. I ran the connection test and everything passed. I created a new email and sent it to an account of mine at hotmail. Then I hit send all... the first time it said 60 seconds remaining and went up and down for a long time, obviously not sending the email. Then it said the message was sent, but it was still sitting in the outbox... I tried deleting that email, making another one, and sending it to another address. This time when I pressed send all it immediately said message sent, but as before, it was still sitting in the outbox. I checked the accounts I sent these messages to and none of them were received.
I'm not sure what is going on here. Normally I would think my Outlook was freaking out, but this is happening to a good 20 people or so, some of which are on Macs, others are on Windows, and others are on Linux. There are at least three or four different email clients being used to try to connect and they're all getting the same freaky problems when trying to connect to the smtp server for this domain. On the other hand, everyone can get their mail from the pop server without a problem... and all of the other domains on the server can use smtp and pop without any problem at all. For some reason, the smtp on just this one domain is messed up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
