• The APS Catalog has been deprecated and removed from all Plesk Obsidian versions.
Applications already installed from the APS Catalog will continue working. However, Plesk will no longer provide support for APS applications.
  • Please be aware: with the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.78 release, the support for the ngx_pagespeed.so module will be deprecated and removed from the sw-nginx package.

Plesk newbie questions

Noel

New Pleskian
I've never used Plesk panel before although fairly familiar with Windows 2008 R2 server.

I need MySQL and PHP running on the server, which I normally install, but it seems Plesk has both already.
However, I can't access MySQL via command line in Windows and nor do I see it as an installed program (same for PHP)

Will it be a conflict if I install MySQL / PHP normally ?

MySQL gets installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\MySQL and PHP gets installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\Additional\PleskPHP5x (replace x with the version that you're using for a site).

As for if it causes a conflict if you install MySQL/PHP normally, I know installing PHP separately won't cause an issue (will need to manually configure IIS for where the runtime libraries are) but not 100% sure about MySQL.
