• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Plesk Onyx 17.5 Downgrading MySQL5.7 to MySQL5.6

eocookie

New Pleskian
Hi,
till now theres no solution to other forum-questions (e.g. https://talk.plesk.com/threads/how-downgrade-mysql-5-7-to-mysql-5-6.342941/)

I've upgraded a few servers automatically from 12.5 to 17.5. But there are a few apps, like Confluence, that do not work with MySQL 5.7. Changing the sql-mode in my.cnf has no effect.

Does anyone know a way how to downgrade Mysql in Plesk according to all Plesk 17.5 dependencies and needs?

PS: Another alternative could be to use a docker image (newbie) or to setup postgres (mysqldump converting is a mess) or installing a second mysql-server on another port (how could this work)?

Thanks.

I see such a downgrade scenario very painful and full of unforeseen unpleasant consequences.
Adding additional external database server would be better solution - Tools&Settings->Database Servers->Add Database Server
