  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Plesk SSL and Domain inaccessibility problem

DNanchew

New Pleskian
Server operating system version
Almalinux 9.5
Plesk version and microupdate number
18.0.68
Hello, yesterday at 7 pm I got a big ddos attack and I've been dealing with problems since then. Somehow I realized that plesk is not working at plesk.domain.com and this is my main problem. I can log in as ip : port but I cannot connect as dns. I tried every way...

I also realized that while I was having this problem, I could not access any connected domains.

I changed the dns defined on plesk, renewed the ssl connection. Whatever I did, I couldn't fix it. Also; I'm having ssl handshake problem when connecting from Cloudflare. Can you help?

Can someone help me with this? I host 60+ domains and get more than 15 tbit traffic daily.

When I connect SSL to the hostname connected to plesk with Let's SSL, it gets fixed temporarily (30 minutes). Then it goes again.

Should I buy SSL? Is there another solution? When this problem occurs (when plesk cannot be accessed via hostname), no connection can be made to any domain connected to plesk.

I am not understanding the issue and don't think anyone else is as well. Are you able to go to any other domains with no problem or if going to any domains that's on your server doesn't load? Are you able to only get to anything by IP address? Are you getting any kind of error messages? You've mention about using Cloudflare, if you disable the Cloudflare proxy, does it load?

Let me try to explain myself briefly...

First of all, I understand that I can't get SSL from Let's SSL, so I can't access any domains on my server.
I defined a hostname in Plesk settings as “plesk.mydomain.com” and I can't access it. I tried all kinds of redirection via Cloudflare (Cloudflare Proxy On / Off) and I couldn't redirect.
If I redirect a domain other than my main domain, i.e. yourdomain.com and not mydomain.com with Nameserver, the site is not accessible at all. But if I redirect via Cloudflare, it gets SSL Handshake error.

Hi,

How does your hosting provider handle DDoS attacks? Do they filter the "bad" traffic or null route the DDoS target?

An actual domain name would be very useful in debugging/understanding the situation. You can send it in a private conversation if you want.

Greetings,

I use OVH's own DDoS protection, which filters and redirects bad traffic. I wonder if this is why there is an access problem. Because there is no problem when ddos protection mode is off. We have a problem when ddos protection mode is on.

I'm not familiar with the OVH DDoS protection, but since you can't access the website while the protection is enabled, it looks like the IP address is blocked in the DDoS protection system.

Can you mtr to the server while the DDoS protection is enabled? How is the mtr looking when the DDoS protection is disabled?
