Issue Plesk’s 50% Black Firday discount: are you serious?!

Hi all,

At this point, I genuinely don’t know whether to laugh or to be offended.
Once again, Plesk has somehow managed to put long-term partners and resellers in a completely impossible position — and sadly, this is becoming more of a tradition than a coincidence.

For years, we have had to deal with the same cycle: Plesk raises prices, we get to be the bad guys explaining the increases to our customers, and we absorb the frustration, the cancellations, and the endless “why is it getting more expensive again?” conversations.
We’ve been doing this for six years in a row, because we believed in the partnership and assumed we were all on the same team.

And then what happens?
Black Friday rolls around, and suddenly Plesk decides it’s the perfect moment to throw 50% discounts on the exact same licenses we’re forced to sell at full price.

The result? Predictable. Immediate. And entirely avoidable.

We’re now flooded with customers demanding to cancel their licenses with us because “Plesk offers them cheaper directly.”
So here we are again — taking the heat for decisions we have zero control over, while Plesk cheerfully undercuts its own partners with a promotion.

If this is meant to be a partner ecosystem, it’s an extremely strange way of showing it.

It’s astonishing how consistently loyal, long-term partners seem to be the ones getting hurt.
We handle the support.
We deal with the infrastructure.
We absorb the rising costs.
We communicate every single price increase to clients who are already frustrated by the annual hikes.
And now, on top of all that, we have to explain why Plesk itself is selling the same product at half price.

It sends a crystal-clear message — and not a good one:

If you’re a loyal partner, you pay more.
If you happen to buy during Black Friday, congratulations, you get a huge discount.

The timing of this discount is not only tone-deaf, it’s downright damaging.
It undermines our businesses, erodes customer trust, devalues the product, and makes us look like we are overcharging — when in reality we’re simply passing along Plesk’s own pricing.

Honestly, it’s unbelievable.
And extremely disrespectful towards the very partners who have supported Plesk through every price hike, every change, every strategic shift, and every “adjustment” we've had to swallow.

If the goal was to erode confidence among your reseller and provider base, then congratulations — mission absolutely accomplished.

Great, great work Plesk. You are really enjoying killing the business for others.

OK, as a customer of (many) Plesk Web Host licenses for phyiscal servers, I'm going to check wich ones will expire in the next 5 month and probably cancel & reorder them.
And once they are all "aligned" to the black friday week/month, we may save many thousand bucks a year, by just cancel and reorder new licenses. (as we can expect to see similiar discounts every year?)

In my case the 50 % discount is still too expensive if I take into account the next 24 months. So I stick with my current Plesk provider. Only if there would be a guarantee for at least the next year that there is such a discount again, I would give it a try.
