• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Pop Mail Issue : Plesk rejecting SMTP

DWMTS1

New Pleskian
I have a new server and I am just setting up my first mailboxes across various domains. Incoming mail works okay however I am getting an error when sending from one of the new pop accounts, but only to users who are @ a domain that I have on my server.

The majority of the domains we have on the server are for web hosting only - with emails typically routed to an exchange server. The only people this seems to affect are people who are exchange clients and use MX records away from my plesk server, but have their domain on my server for web hosting.

Smtp I am using is that of my plesk server.

Is my server trying to route the mail internally and having a problem because there are no users on the server for that domain?

Error:
Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table

Solved

Been bothering me for hours this and as soon as I posted I saw the solution.

For domains using mail providers away from plesk you need to deactivate the mail service for that domain on plesk.

Domain > Mail > Change Settings > Activate mail service on domain [untick] > OK
