  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hello,

from some time I'm thinking about moving to VPS server, but because my knowledge of linux system is none I have some basic questions. (sorry if I posted this questions in a wrong category).

I want ot buy VPS from one of German's datacenter which offer Plesk Panel 10 as an option for managing server.

1. I get information that after purchase I will recieve VPS already configured and with Plesk Panel preinstalled so I will be ready to go. I'm thinking which versions of PHP, MySQL will be installed, is versions are related to Plesk Panel? If yes which versions I can recieve with Plesk Panel 10.

2. Languages - in demo Panel I have an option to choose my primary language which is Polish, but in Plesk Panel description I don't see polish language in a list. Will I get it :) or is it was added not long time ago and description wasn't just updated?

3. I can choose between Debian and Cent Os with plesk? Which one colud be a better option for a person who is starting in own jurney with own server? which one could be easier to use/learn, or maybe which one is more popular (if that could help to get a better support from other users) ?

4. 32bit or 64bit? I know the diffrence in windows applications, but on linux? Plesk is 64 bit? Is this could affect performance?

5. Something which I'm worried about while having own server, I know that plesk can send notifications when one of service like PHP or MySQL will goes down, but is there is an option that Plesk can restart this services after error automaticly?

Thank you in advance for any response, sorry for a nob questions, but I'm designer, not administrator ;) i want to make my life as easy as possible ;) so I'm looking at Plesk Panel.

Best Regards

Tomek

1. It depends on OS vendor. Plesk doesn’t ship client’s PHP, it only downloads it from original OS vendor repository, for example.

2. Localization package plesk-l10n should be installed. In that case Parallels Panel locales contains transation for
de-DE es-ES fr-FR it-IT ja-JP nl-NL ru-RU zh-CN zh-TW pl-PL languages.

3. I recommend CentOS as most supported and most popular OS for Plesk.

4. Yes, we have 64-bit Plesk version too.
