Hi,

after a fresh install of Plesk 8.2.1 I have a big problem when creating backups. Everytime when I want to create a backup on my ftp-repository plask gives me an error like this:

Unable to create backup session: Specified file is not accessible

This happens with the ftp-repositoy and the local-repository.

What is the problem?

Thank you for your help!

Same Problem over here.

Any advise on how to solve this.

I got more issues with plesk since updating to latest version.
Is there something wrong with the update pakkage?

Anyone please help

Could someone from SWsoft give an answer?

Maybe first tell us where plesk stores temporarely the backup files.

It maybe possible that this dir is write protected.

Could someone tell us where plesk stores the backup files temporarely?

OK Problem solved:

The cause for this error is the temporarely backup dir located in /var/lib/psa/dumps.

Change the owner to psaadm and everything runs fine.

Just go to the dir

/var/lib/psa/dumps

and do the following command

chown psaadm tmp

After that the backups are running again.

Please SWSoft don't release updates with so much trouble.

hi,
I had exactly the same problem. The backups were in folders named after the time stamp when they began. I'm needing to delete these failed backups to save disk space.
So, does any one have any advice on how to best do this? Are all the files/folders in this directory temp backup files and hence safe to delete??
Many thanks.

Worked for me too!
Thank God for the forums (often the best support out there!).
Just want to thank everyone here for helping out all of us in our times of need.
:)
