Problem with Mail autoresponder setup with mailing lists.
Heres my problem.
We currently have our company email setup on our plesk server. everyone has a [email protected] email address. We also have some mailing lists such as [email protected] and [email protected]. All our users are listed in these mailing lists, ie everyone is listed in 'all' and the accounts team are listed under 'accounts'.

The problem i have, is to do with setting up the email autoresponder up on their account. If an email get sent to [email protected] - the 'all' mailing list - the email gets distributed to this list. Now if a member of the list has an autoresponder switched on then the account replys to [email protected]. In turn this then gets sent back out to everyone on the mailing list. And so the loop continues....

As you can see if uncontrolled you get a cascading mail scenario. Now to limit this effect i have put a limit on the number of responses to 1 per specific email user per day.

I would like to irridicate this all together, maybe so that the mailing list [email protected] doesnt except messages that are flagged as coming from the auto responder maybe?

or is there a way to setup the autoresponder not to reply to messages from a specific user?

Or could i use spam assasin? although i believe that spam assassin only works to flag messages as containing spam, rather than eliminating it altogether.

My aim is to not limit emails coming from [email protected], but to cut off the auto responder from replying to that address only.

I look forward to hearing your suggestions.
