  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Problems uploading logo

I am trying to upload my logo which has a transparent background to my site. However, regardless if I use .gif, .png, etc they all show up using a black background, even though it is supposed to be transparent.

Has anyone had this issue or staff know how to correct this?

problems uploading logo and banner in Website builder plus

Hi, I am having exactly the same problems too, in particular with banners.

Have you managed to resolve this issue or does anyone else have any ideas.

I too have tried various file formats as well.

Also, I am now struggling to get banners to load up at all and appear in the dropdown menu for selection - even though a little message appears at the top of the screen to say your banner has been uploaded!

Mine was because the logo was to big and when sitebuilder resized it, it lost the transparency.

So this is what my tech from hostgator.com said.

From my research, it looks like Nate may have had the right idea earlier: that the transparency is lost when the image is resized. This would also explain why our ticketing system, which resizes the images when you add them as attachments, isn't displaying the transparency. Could you have your designers create for you an image that's 320px × 213px, the size to which SiteBuilder is resizing your logo, and try using it, instead? I have tested sitebuilder using an 80px by 80px image with transparency, and, when SiteBuilder doesn't have to resize the image, the transparency displays properly.

thanks for the reply. This is very useful info.

I was aware that logos or banners needed to be a particular size but didn't realize they were resized when uploaded. I think this must have been a change to the software in recent months.
I say this as going back quite some time ago, when uploading logos or banners, if they were too big, there used to be a very small easy to miss message at the top of the screen where it now just always says "your banner has been uploaded" (even when it doesn't seem to have!).
I can't remember the wording exactly but if your image was too big it very usefully used to quote the maximum dimensions for the template being used, unfortunately now that doesn"t seem to be the case.

Don't suppose you happen to know if there is a way to find out what size the banner image needs to be for the template being used, or even if there are only a handful of variable sizes throughout the templates on offer?

thanks again for the helpful reply.

I unfortunately do not know, but your hosting company should know. Mine is hostgator.com and they were able to tell me the size the logo should be. So depending on your provider, they should be able to tell you the correct demensions for the banner.
