• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Hi, in the past I have maintained my servers without Plesk. When doing this I have created a directory at the same level as httpdocs named database. I used this as a non web accessible directory to maintain databases.

I have tried to do this through plesk but it does not allow me acces to ftp into that directory.

How does everyone else place databases on the servers without allowing others http access to the databases?

thanks for the help.

You can add a web user to the domain. A web user is a user account within web server. It is used to define locations for personalized web pages with individual FTP access. The result of creating a web user is a subdirectory within your domain (e.g. domain.com/~webuser).
