Can any bdy help me in resolving an issue.

I had just installed RHEL-5 with Plesk 8.2.I didnt notice any error during installation.but when i run plesk throuogh explorer , default httpd Test page appears. And when i check plesk status by running service psa statusservice psa status command, it displays the message:

psa dead but subsys locked

i used these command:

rm -f /var/lock/psa

but even then m problem unresolved

How to resolve it

psa dead

Its is fresh install.

how can I force plesk installtion . becoz this is not rpm, ./psa autoinstaller file. I donot know abt that. please help me.

and one more thing. wheni opened the httpsd_error log file, following was the error message:

Processing config directory: /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/httpsd.*.include
[Tue Aug 7 12:21:21 2007] [crit] (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to port 8443

i had just install the RHEL-5,

and then plesk.

may be this will help u

They should have the RPMs downloaded to /root/psa I think, although they will be somewhere under the root directory.

psa dead

thanks anyway,

problem solved with other method.when i checked the httpsd_error log file, there was some error related to 8443 confliction/bind problem. so i changed the default plesk port and it started working. Plesk is running on new port but not on default port. Problem is same but i found an alternate.

I had fresh installed the Linux OS , i donot know how it is conflicting

Anyway,it is solved

thanx

Glad to hear its all solved.

If your still curious about the ports you can check with netstat and nmap as to what is on the ports if anything.
