PSAdump file size questions?

Any particular reason why my dump files vary so much in size? One day they will be 4G and the next they will be 4.7G and then the next day they will be 5G and then back to 4G? I dont believe anybody is removing a gig worth of information, and then added it back. Just seems a little fishey to me. Any ideas?
