Qmail is having a critical problem with different email name for different domains.

Basic Pleskian
Qmail is having a critical problem with same email name for different domains.

I am using FC1 and Plesk 7.5.4

One of my customer who owns several domains in our server is complaining that his emails are being received to one particular domain and at the same time being received to the original account when his customer is sending an email to him via abc.com.

The scenario goes like this:

He owns several domains in our server. And he created an email account, say, [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected] on the server. These email accounts have different email password.

A check on the individual domains show that all these emails accounts do not have any re-direction or mail group.

When an email is being sent to [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] are receiving it.

Also, if the email is being send to [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] are also receiving it.

what is wrong?

Anyone has this problem? It seems like it is a critical problem.

Thanks

This is possibly because on your server you are not enforcing use of "full POP3/IMAP" mail account names.

Also make sure that in each domain's DNS, not all domains should have a PTR record.

There should only be a single domain per IP with a PTR record.
