Question about making plesk secure

amit290

Basic Pleskian
Hi all,

I want to purchase a certificate so my control panel is secure; dont want customers to get a nasty warning that its an un-secured site!

I was going to purchase a "GeoTrust Quick SSL" for $109 through MyPlesk.com , but I'm a bit confused if this will do the trick?!?

My plesk control panel lives at "<admin>.domain.tld". When I create a certificate key, do I specify "domain.tld" as the request url? or "<admin>.domain.tld" ?

If someone can suggest another certificate that will do this for me, I'd be happy to hear from you. Cheap as possible really to do the job. ;)

Thanks

I personnaly did as follow:
- add a subdomain SECURE to a DOMAIN.TLD
- bought a certificate for SECURE.DOMAIN.TLD (@ Thawte )
- Install it on the only IP I have on this dedicated
- And then, I access PLESK via https://SECURE.DOMAIN.TLD:8443 without security warning

In your case, I think you simply have to replace SECURE by ADMIN.
