Hello everyone,

I have a question about the outgoing rate limit for emails. I currently have a limit of 50 emails per mailbox, 200 emails per domain, and 300 emails per subscription (per hour). These limits work perfectly. Since I can't find a clear answer in the Plesk documentation and I couldn't find any precise results on Google either (and Claude and ChatGPt provide contradictory information), I would like to ask you:

What happens to messages that exceed the set limit? Are they sent automatically at a later time (i.e., placed in a queue and then sent at the next possible time slot) or are they simply rejected?

I occasionally have customers who reach the limit, but no customer has contacted me about this yet, and I wonder if they are unaware that their emails have been rejected or that our mail server has sent them in batches.

I have also attached a screenshot for visualization and am wondering how this graphic should be understood in relation to my questions.

I am also asking because I am expecting an association to send an email to all its members from time to time. This could result in 450 emails being sent in a short period of time, and I would like to have an answer ready in case the customer has problems sending them.

Apart from that, I know that this is not the right way to send so many emails :). Thank you very much for your help!

Hi, @flex1 . Emails sent after exceeding the quota are automatically rejected, not queued. The following message is displayed to the sender:

Your message could not be sent. The limit on the number of allowed outgoing messages was exceeded. Try again later..
