• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Questions about the Plesk Firewall

davidsimonvja

New Pleskian
Good morning,

I'm just getting started with Plesk and have a few questions about the Plesk firewall
- maybe you can help me?

- What is the difference between SMTP server for transmission port and SMTP server for sending email?

- What would be the advantage or disadvantage of allowing incoming connections to the Plesk installer?

- The MySQL server is currently accessible from outside. If I only need access to the database
via website hosted on the server, I can just allow the server IP as incoming connection, right?

- What are the advantages of allowing incoming connections to the domain name server?

- What exactly is IPv6 Neighbor Discovery?

Maybe you have some tips for me?

Greetings,
