Redirect domain via htaccess

XCore

New Pleskian
I've tried several versions of domain redirects using an '.htaccess' file but none work. I can't find any references to using htaccess files in the docs so I'm perplexed.
I'm not using the Plesk 'alias' or 'forwarding' option because my Plesk install is at 'cp.pleskinstall.foo' and the domain I need to forward is 'pleskinstall.foo'.
Also, the Plesk docs offer a phantom solution (as in it doesn't exist in my install):
"To make an existing domain a domain forwarder:
Go to Websites & Domains, click Hosting Settings beside the name of the domain you want to make a forwarder, and click theChange link next to the Hosting type field and specify the following:
  • Under Hosting type, select the Forwarding option.
  • In the Destination address box, type the URL address to which you want to redirect visitors.
  • Under Forwarding type, select standard or frame forwarding. To learn more about forwarding types, see Forwarding."

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Thanks for the reply, Swen.
rewrite is already enabled in Admin>Tools & Settings>Apache Web Server Settings

Not sure what you're asking but I do appreciate your attempt to help.
I've removed the domain and readded it as an alias and so far it's fine. I just hope that an eventual SOA update doesn't reveal a problem.
