Hi all,
I see these messages in my maillog. Are they ok? Or is that indicating that mail is getting sent. An explaination of what it actually means either way would be helpful.

Feb 19 15:16:07 www relaylock: /var/qmail/bin/relaylock: mail from 164.77.156.213:33470 (as5300-s58-203.cnt.entelchile.net)

I would love to have an answer as well. I believe this to be when remote SMTP servers are being looked up in a MAPS zone. Is this correct? If so, how can I tell from the log when a connection is refused or allowed?

Thanks!
-Shawn

Also, these messages vary, after the ip:

relaylock: /var/qmail/bin/relaylock: mail from 217.195.212.98:4759

Some have what appears to be a FQDN (honda.tyumen.ru), some have something not a FQDN (hn.kd.dhcp) and some have (not defined).

What are these please?

-Shawn

Hi, I believe that this is qmail checking that the IP address of the sender is in the allowed hosts file (allowed to relay). If qmail is configured to accept from any IP address then I guess this doesn't really do much.
