  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resellers unable to change mail settings if custom max outgoing messages specified by admin

websavers

Regular Pleskian
Steps to reproduce:
  1. As the admin user, change the setting for a particular email account called "The maximum number of outgoing email messages" to a value beyond the default. For example if the default is 35, set it to 75. This is common -- often we have customers who send larger quantities of messages than the average user.
  2. Login as a reseller with access to manage the email account and attempt to change any *other* value. For example, you could completely ignore the outgoing mail messages value and change just the Auto-Reply value
  3. Plesk refuses to allow the change and kicks me back to the first tab with the following error:
The value must be in the range 0..35. Only the Plesk administrator can adjust this setting.

This error is referring to the setting called "The maximum number of outgoing email messages" which was *already* set to 75 by an admin and is not in the process of being changed. Yet all mail settings are now blocked from being altered because of this.

This is a bug, no? Shouldn't Plesk be detecting that the num outgoing messages setting is not being changed and therefore allow the changes to other settings?

We're using Plesk 12.0.18 Update #52

Only admin can override server wide (Tools & Settings>Server-Wide Mail Settings) Outgoing Mail Control limits for subscriptions. Not reseller.

Yes, I understand that, but as the steps clearly indicate, the admin had already overridden the setting. The Reseller is not attempting to override the server-wide setting; simply leave it exactly as it is and change another unrelated setting and it fails. Please read the steps again.
