Restore from Plesk 7.6 forgets custom file permissions

Hi
Similar questions have been asked before but I haven't read a definitive answer yet. I need to move 100+ websites from a server with Plesk 7.6.1 to a new server with Plesk 8.3. So far I have been trying the backup/restore utility, but this doesn't restore custom file permissions which were set in the older version of plesk using the permissions editor. This means a huge manual job going through every site re-setting the permissions.

I thought I read that version 8+ WILL backup and restore custom permissions , but that older versions don't. Is that right?

If I have to accept that the 7.6 backup utility just won't back up the permissions, is there anything else I can do? Will the migration manager help me, or is there a quick way to set file permissions on the destination server?

Thank you.

1. only plesk 8.2 and older include custom permissions (created via file manager) in backup
2. you can set permissions on the box with Plesk reconfigurator tool

I have to do a similar migration from plesk 7.5.6 to 8.3, were you able to conserve your custom permissions somehow using Migration Manager or Plesk Backup?

2. you can set permissions on the box with Plesk reconfigurator tool

Not sure how this suggested procedure works, did you try it?

Thanks in Advance
