  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Restore point not shown for some websites

New Pleskian
Hi there!

Strange issue, maybe someone knows how to fix it or at least has a suggestion were to look for the error.

Plesk Onyx 17.8.11 Update #88 with Wordpress Toolkit 4.9.2-3948

On most of the WordPress sites managed by WP Toolkit, I see "Restore Points" (Wiederherstellungspunkt in German)

But for some, I don't.
Not even if I use WP Toolkit to update some plugins or themes and check "Restore Point" (Wiederherstellungspunkt in German):

1598892289253.png The restore point should show up between "Anmelden" and "Domain", but it doesn't

Why is that? Any ideas?
I would like to use the restore point as mean to undo updates that cause issues.

By the way, I already unlocked and synchronized the service package, but that didn't change anything...

It's definitely weird. Restore point, created before an update or before a syncing with another website should be present at the instance card without any additional circumstances. Could you please check, this issue occurs for some specific website constantly, or from time to time?

Hi Aleksey,

thanks for the answer. Didn't get notified, so I need to check my forum settings. And my spam mails :)

As far I can see this happens for constantly for the affected domains. I tried to run updates several times in the hope that it would cause a restore point to be created, but that doesn't happen.
I don't think new sites created on that server are affected, the problematic subscriptions are relatively old, like 2 years or so. They might have been there when seerver was still running an older plesk version.

Is there any way to create (and restore) a restore point on the command line? Would be great to see if that would cause any errors...

Cheers,

Christian

Unfortunately, there is no CLI tool for snapshots, but in upcoming WordPress Toolkit 4.10.0 will be an ability to create a backup for your website - this is very similar to snapshots but includes all website files and content.

Regarding an inability to create a snapshot, some clues possibly could be found in the panel log. Could you please check any related errors in /var/log/plesk/panel.log?
