• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

RKHunter Errors Driving Me Insane..!

I've got a dedicated server but there seems to be several errors generated by RKHunter. Is this anything to worry about? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My provider is One and One.

Here are the results -

It is just warnings but not real danger. For more details about these warnings you can check /var/log/rkhunter.log file.

Iamwill did you ever get a answer to this? I'm getting the same exact warnings in the same locations. My server is with 1 and 1 also.

I tried to check my rkhunter.log but I get a "permission denied" error. It has permissions set at 0600.

Any ideas? Would really appreciate.

Ok, after numerous research I discovered that the [Warning] were all false positive alerts. What I had to do was edit the "rkhunter.conf" file. Located at:

/usr/local/psa/etc/modules/watchdog/rkhunter.conf

I Whitelisted Apps, hidden directories and files and also XINETD services.

Case closed!

I'd be concerned about whitelisting hidden directories/files, personally. I'd want to know what they were.

Sure, it is annoying to see that warning all the time, but I'd still investigate rkhunter.log to see what they were. THEN you can see about whitelisting their locations (I think you can do that, anyway).

I actually did. I checked numerous OTHER forums also to confirm that what I had were False Positives. Trust me I made sure first.
