  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Rouncube but not showing up in webmail pull down menu in plesk?

BernieG

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

I installed roundcube to my server, but how can I get roundcube to be listed in the pull down menu for "webmail" within plesk?

Thank you!

Ok, thank you!

I ended up adding "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/roundcube" in the URL field and I updated one of my domain names to use this webmail client, but when I go to "webmail.domain_name.com" I just get redirected to the Plesk's "Web Server's Default Page" page instead of RoundCube.

I installed RoundCube in the following directory /var/www/vhosts/defaul/roundcube/ .

Thank you!

We're experiencing the same problem.

Webmail is working in http://roundcube.mycompany.tld, and can connect with any account created in the same IMAP server, regardless domain.

Then, we created external webmail in Plesk, as stated in docs, with name "Roundcube (0.6)" and URL http://roundcube.mycompany.tld, but when selected in any domain mail properties, http://webmail.anydomain.tld shows Plesk default page.

I've noticed that if the new webmail is selected in mail properties, Plesk deletes the following DNS record:

*.webmail.domain.tld. CNAME domain.tld.

I've tryed restoring it, but default page is shown anyway.

What are we doing wrong?

Igor, I'll look at the example guide you provided to do things manually- but, to me, the feature of "third party webmail" in the control panel does not work.

This would suggest that when speaking to Parallels staff, they take note and pass it onto engineers to check why setting alternate webmail options removes DNS entries for vhosts and doesn't work as it should.

In my mind, the option that is presented should allow one form to be filled in, then each domain (or all domains) to be set to use the new webmail without any manual intervention.

Is this not what Parallels intended?

Version 10.4.4 U19 and still impossible to add Roundcube (others too) as third mail client via GUI. After adding Plesk removes webmail.domain.tld DNS record and webmail.domain.tld opens default Plesk page.

Question: why there is this feature, if I have manualy change config files???

Roundcube webmail

Hi all.

Anyone found a decent working solution yet? We're getting more and more complaints from our customers that are using the built-in webmails with both has some severe bugs:

Atmail
Doesn't work properly from mobile devices and tablets. Links in the folder views are not clickable and hence makes the webmail client useless.

Horde
Besides being an old (and ugly) service for our clients, it works in many cases. But again, the mobile and tablet view with it's built-in minimalistic view is truncating texts - making the experience pretty darn hard.

I've looked into Igor's suggestion with the templating, but there must be an easier way? We'd like to get rid of both Horde and Atmail or at least replace the http://webmail.domain.tld with the Roundcube.

Hope somebody can help?
