u will get this error when the application pool of the website is stopped in IIS; typically caused due to an error
in your application. It will get corrected by restarting the application pool on server. But permanent solution
is identifying and correcting the error in application.

I believe this error have been generated when accessing a aspx page ? if so please switch between the asp.net version frm plesk >> Domain >>setup >> ASP.net ; once switched to the other version, switch it back to the old one.
