PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
My Backup Manager Schedule has the following setting enabled: If errors occur during the execution of this backup task, send a notification email to
The Plesk server uses the email address in that field as the From header, too.
In my case, the email domain is not managed by this Plesk server.
The email provider quarantined the email because the server did not have permission to send from the email domain.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Configure a Server Backup Schedule.
Enabled the setting If errors occur during the execution of this backup task, send a notification email to and use an email address domain than cannot be managed by a Plesk server, for example
Force a backup error - in my case it was a permission on a file such that the Backup Manager could not read the file.
Observe the message header using the email address in that field as the From header.
ACTUAL RESULT
Backup task notification error email is quarantined by the mail service of the domain used because of the misconfiguration described above.
EXPECTED RESULT
Backup task notification should be sent from the email address configured in Panel.ini
Or, if not configured, an appropriate fallback email address for which the domain is allowed to send email from the server.
