• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question server performance mdcheck

S2W

New Pleskian
Hello, I am running plek on ubuntu 22.

I notice that every day it runs a service "mdcheck_continue.service - MD array scrubbing - continuation"

sometimes it tells me "Condition check resulted in MD array scrubbing - continuation being skipped." and the service does not start

at other times it runs a scan for 6 hours.

I don't know if this is a plesk or ubuntu service but this service runs for 6 hours and seems to scan or clean hdd's.
The problem is that it has a big impact on the performance of the server as it is constantly busy doing disk writes and reads.

My first question.
Is it possible to stop this service manually or even disable it completely unless it is necessary?

If not, is it at least possible to program it to scan overnight and not at any time of the day as it does now?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

This is not a Plesk-related issue. I doubt you will get any answers to this question here.
I suggest that you ask it in a Ubuntu forum, like this one:
