  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Server Restore 9.3 -> 9.3 Consistently Fails

Michael MacDonald

Basic Pleskian
I have been trying to get a successful restore in order to test a migration plan. I built a virtual machine and copied one of my backup files from my production server to the virtual. Both machines - the production and the virtual - are the exact same version of Plesk. The source machine is running RHEL and my target is running CentOS 5.5. I start my restore using the following method:

After I build the virtual machine, I add the private IPs to my virtual server that Plesk will need.

With Plesk 9.3 installed do the following:
create ipmap file using the --create-map command. I modify the mapping file to match the private IPs I have on the VM environment. Now the mapping file and the system both have the same IP addresses available.

I start the restore with the following command:
/usr/local/psa/bin/pleskrestore --restore Pleskbackup.dump -map ipmap.txt -level server

Things run for a while but stop with a rather large error log in pmmcli.log.

There appears to be only one section where I find STDERR label:

PLEASE advise on how to fix this.

Thank you.

There has been ZERO response to this question. I am unable to restore my Plesk server from a Plesk backup and I don't seem to get much, if any, response here. I note that my question icon no longer appears in color. I think I did thing correctly. I posted with the server, version, result and expected result and I still get not even a short response. This is a test restore to prep myself for a test migration. What do I need to do to get even a small amount of support?
