  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Server transfer howto

Hi!,

I'm wondering what the best way is to transfer the complete plesk setup to another server. Some people say it should be done by the migration tool. Others say that this should be done by hand... because with the migration tool u shouldnt be able to transfer the complete package like DB's etc.

Any advise?

Thanks,

Kind Regards,

This is my opinion:

With how many posts there have been about problems with the MM, I would do the transfers manually myself or using rsync or such, that way I 'know' when it is all transferred and put in place. When the MM bombs out it is just about impossible to tell what it has completed and what has not been completed, then getting it sorted out afterwards is a real pain.

If the MM worked well and was not so buggy then I *might* consider using it....
