Server update

SauliusZ

Basic Pleskian
Hello,

We have a Plesk 11 on CentOS 6.2. Is it safe to make system updates with yum? How would this affect Plesk?
Maybe it is possible to add OS updates in Plesk autoupdate? Can I check what are in the list of autoupdate?
In rkhunter.log I see that "Application 'httpd', version 'x.y.z', is out of date", but can I update it manualy or it is done in autoupdate?
How to know which software version works with my current Plesk if I decide to do manual updates?
How to avoid compatibility problems with updates?

Generally you can use yum for OS update. But sometimes updates of some packages can lead to problems with Plesk operation. It is very difficult to predict such cases. Therefore we fix it when it happens. So, be careful with OS updates.
