service daemons miss after updating packages

I'm runnning plesk 9.5.2 on a Ubuntu 8.04 box and I just ran accross this problem in which the Plesk panel is unaccessible, I checked and the service /etc/init.d/psa is missing, it's simply not there, something removed it I'm guessing it was the last apt-get install I did for libmysqlclient-dev I don't know.

Now I can't start the PSA service meaning I can't go into my CP, I was thinking in reinstalling the PSA (which I also don't know how) but I don't want to loose any of my data, the rest of the services such as apache and mysql as still running without any problems

What can I do? I don't know anyone with a Plesk9.5.2/Ubuntu8.04 machine from which I can copy the missing files, i don't know either if that would fix my problem

thanks in advance for any suggestions
