  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Setting Nameservers

Hi.
I'm a newbie to Plesk.
I previously had standard hosting with Ionos but have just moved to a virtual server due to needing root access to my databases. I spoke with Ionos Helpdesk as was struggling to set nameservers of my domain to Plesk due to the fact it had only one IP address - ns1 and ns2 were each requesting IPv4 addresses in the Ionos control panel and would not accept the same one. I was advised to purchase another IP address for ns2 which I have done.
However, when following their guide it tells me to use my hostname for the second ipv4 which is not visible in my control panel.
Any advice welcomed.
Thanks

I'm actually trying the same.

You find the hostname under server&cloud and there under your server settings.

Using this tutorial if Ionos:

But I've had no success to get my side running.
Still some DNS problems.

Tried it the plesk way:

Didn't work either, I also extra purchased a second IP and added it to plesk.

I'm starting to believe, those providers, never really tested their own services and make things up.

Also make sure you check your firewall settings under IONOS server settings, change port 53 from TCP to TCP & UDP.

That solved my problem.
