Setting up a nameserver (on Ubuntu 5.10)

The company I work for is trying to migrate all its existing costumers from an older Red Hat server to an Ubuntu 5.10 server running Plesk 8.0.1 (upgraded from 8.0.0 via control panel).

The old server (that really needs a reinstall) also acted as the primary DNS server we want to move all the domain information to the new server and then switch IP address when the setup is complete.

But we have run into a small problem when we test the nameserver from dk-hostmaster.dk (http://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/index.php?id=54) with one of the domains entered we get a response that the server is not responding. But if we test the host name of the server we get a reply.

Ill admit that Im not a DNS expert, so if anyone has an idea on how we can set up the nameserver and test it properly before the switch any help would be greatly appreciated .
