Setting up a second domain

I've setup my dns records for my default domain www.mydomain.com and it works fine. I've tried setting up a new domain and pointed it to the same nameservers as the first (ns1.mydomain.com ns2.mydomain.com) but my browser says it cannot find the server. I must be missing something on the Plesk side of things. Any advice would help. Thanks guys.

I'm not sure exactly how you have your hosting operation setup, so forgive me if this reply is way off.. but are your own nameservers available to the world (i.e outside of your plesk system)?

try http://dnsstuff.com

put your
ns1.mydomain.com
and
ns2.mydomain.com

in the 'dns lookup' box on the right.
See if you can find those nameservers.

..I know that with my system of plesk, I do not use my internal nameserver ns1.mydomain.com , but rather, I use the datacentre nameservers where my installation of plesk is running (ns1.mydatacentre.net).

I looked up my nameservers on dnsstuff.com and it gave me back ip address and other info. I guess that means its available outside my Plesk system. Should I be setting up my new domain in Plesk as a slave DNS server? Forgive my ignorance as I am a designer who's new to this.

not necessarily. Just to clarify.

At http://www.dnsstuff.com, in the dns lookup field

put in ONLY mynewdomain.com, and select the ns from the dropdown.

does it show your
ns1.mynewdomain.com
and
ns2.mynewdomain.com ?

k, you may as well email me with your domain name, so i can specifically check to see if it has propogated and what the settings are..
