  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Should I upgrade from Ubuntu 18.0.4?

Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS
I just realized that Ubuntu 18.0.4 is ELO. Didn't realize this when I moved my Plesk server to a new VPS a month ago. ‍♂️

Should I update Ubuntu to something newer? Will there be any problems with Plesk (Plesk v18.04.6 LTS)?

I still have access to my old VPS on Digital Ocean if that helps (everything is turned off though, just waiting for me to cancel the subscription).

You should upgrade to Ubuntu 20.0x or better Ubuntu 22.0x (LTS).

Ubuntu 18.0x (LTS) is also end-of-life.

Taking a server backup or downloading a server snapshot before doing so, is the minimum.

If that causes any problems, depends on your setup. In my case, it was not a difficult task.

Thanks for the input!
Will there be any problems with my current installation of Plesk? Ie, do I need to update that as well, or will it handle that automatically?

Hmm, on the other hand. v20.0.4 seems stable and legit, is there any real reason to perform this upgrade now?
