Single FTP account for Client?

Hello everyone,

I have a quick question...

I have clients that have 10+ domains under their account. Is there any way to create ONE ftp account that has access to all those domains? or does plesk force you to create a FTP account PER domain, even though they are owned by the same 'client'?

thanks in advanced!

If you have a separate "httpdocs" directory for every domain, then you'll have a separate FTP-account per domain.

If your 10+ domains are pointing to the same "httpdocs" directory, you can use only one FTP-account. To make this possible you are required to setup your domains as "domain alias".

In order to achieve this goal, remove all your domains except one - then click on this one left over and add all your other domains as alias inside of it this "master"-domain. The same applies for all your email-boxes, you can have as many "email aliases" as you require.

The exact procedure and behaviour is described in Administrators manual or domain owners manual.

Thank you very much for your response. I have tried what you explained, however, this means that the second domain I add to the 'main' domain as an alias, just points to the first domain's httpdocs. (ie: it doesnt have it's own httpdocs directory and so on). Is there anyway to add domains as an alias, but have it be a separate entity?

I hope that wasnt too convoluted.. Thanks again!

Yes - this is exactly what it does.
